How scratches affect your compact disc:

If any damage occurs to the top 3 layers
the playing surface of a DVD,
the information stored will be ruined.These "top-side" scratched can not be repaired.
Scratches on the bottom, however, are
merely on the plastic, and while they cause
your disc to skip, they can easily be repaired
with Azuradisc's patented High Density Disc
Repolarization (HDDR) technology.

How can your discs be repaired?To find out which side of the disc your
scratch is on, try this simple test. Hold the
disc up to a light. If you see pin holes or
light coming through the disc, then that
disc cannot be repaired. It has been
damaged through its top layers.Scratches on the bottom of the disc create
a double line effect. One scratch appears
as two because the scratch is being mirrored
by the reflective layer. These are scratches
that can be repaired.

How to properly clean a disc:

In some cases, a disc can be cleaned by
simply wiping away smudges and
fingerprints. We DO NOT recommend
cleaning a disc unless you have approved
cleaning solutions.
Using a clean micro-fiber cloth and
cleaning solution, wipe the surface of
the disc. NEVER use a circular motion
when cleaning a disc.

DO NOT MISHANDLE:
Do Not crush hub of case.
Remove DVD by holding the edge and
gently working out of the protective
case. Immediately after playing,
return the disc to its protective case.

DVDs should never be placed outside of
their protective cases; most scratches are
caused by placing discs on dirty surfaces.

There will be a $3.00 refinishing fee chargeddue to mishandeling. Replacement cost will
be charged for any discs that are returned
damaged due to mishandling that can not
be repaired.

Cleaning & Repair
VCR and DVD manufacturers DO NOT
recommend cleaning discs or cartridges as
they can do damage to your machine.
We at Capitol Video offer a professional
cleaning and repair service for DVD players,
VCRs and Game Systems.
NOTE:
It is recommended to have your machine
cleaned every 200 playing hours or at least
once a year. Avoid problems by regularly
